Coolit v.9 and CoolitPCB v.5 releases and other news

Both Coolit and CoolitPCB had the IC Packages and Library module enhanced with new  packages added to the library and new options for compact models. The new compact resistor model options are DELPHI models and 14-resistor model.

Desktop Engineering magazine's editors have chosen Coolit for the honor of DE's Pick of the Week. The award recognizes Coolit's powerful capabilities that enable designers to carry out the component, board and system level thermal design of electronics. Coolit models significantly increase thermal analysis accuracy and shorten product development time.

In other news, we would like to welcome our many new customers in India: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Space Application Center, Sona Koyo Steering Ltd. and others.

Coolit Tips

Comparing cases in CoolPlot

When comparing cases, it is important to view results using the same range of compared variables for all cases. Pressing , at the bottom of the Palette Bar, will open the Variable Range dialog that permits you to expand the domain range of the displayed variable. Select the case with the largest variation to set the maximum range. Using the Variable Range dialog you can then set the range for other cases to the same values to enable comparison.

New Features

DELPHI compact models

IC Package Constructor now includes an option to specify compact models using DELPHI standards (also, see JEDEC document JESD15-1). The DELPHI option lets you specify a resistor network using DELPHI methodology for generating environment-independent compact resistor models of IC packages. Such models are currently available from many IC package manufacturers.
