New Releases: Coolit v.6, CoolitPCB v.2

Both Coolit and CoolitPCB had major upgrades this year. Coolit's new 64-bit ready V6.0 delivers expanded CAD import/export functionality, slashes the time required for fine grid calculations, and adds multiple fluid capability. In addition, it provides numerous ease-of-use, visualization, and reporting advancements.

CoolitPCB v. 2.0 delivers major new functionality such as import of board artwork (traces) in addition to many other features. Priced at $4900 perpetual license, CoolitPCB costs only a fraction of would-be competitors, with no compromise in power, features or accuracy. CoolitPCB is fully integrated with Coolit, so board designs can be readily incorporated into system level analysis.

In other news, we welcome our new users at LSI Logic, Hewlett-Packard, Engenio, EMS Technologies, Echostar, Filtran, Sameer, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Trane, and InPhase Technologies.

Coolit Tips

Thumbnail previews

Often it can be hard to keep all your Coolit models organized so you can find what you need in a hurry. Clever naming schemes help, but up to a point. To remedy this problem, Coolit and CoolPlot files can now be previewed as thumbnail images right in Windows Explorer (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only). To preview your models in MS Explorer, choose View, and then select Thumbnails.

New Features

CAD file export

You can now export your thermally-optimized models from Coolit and CoolitPCB to most CAD packages. In Coolit you can use STEP and STL formats for your models and IDF for boards. CoolitPCB exports boards only. To export your model, choose File|Export and select the desired format.
